I'm currently a post-doctoral scholar at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, working with Shang-Ping Xie. I earned a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington, where I was advised by Gerard Roe and Dale Durran. I graduated from Harvard in 2005 with a degree in physics, and then spent the next four years working at the Air Force Research Lab near Boston. Gerard convinced me to go to grad school by asking which of my career options would be least likely to precipitate a mid-life crisis. So far, no regrets.
