Peter H. Barry

SIO Graduate Student (PhD)

Peter was a SIO graduate student at the Fluids and Volatiles Laboratory from 2006-12. His Ph.D. dissertation title was: Laboratory and field-based instrumentation developments and noble gas-stable isotope systematics of Rungwe Volcanic Province, Iceland and the Central Indian Ridge. Presently, Peter holds a NSF post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Tennessee.

Andrew Cherene

SIO Graduate Student (MS)

Andrew worked at the Fluids and Volatiles Lab from 2003-05. His M.S. thesis title was Noble gases and neon isotopes as groundwater tracers in the Mojave Desert.

Diana de Leeuw

SIO Graduate Student (PhD)

Diana studied at the Fluids and Volatiles Laboratoty from 2001-07. Her PhD dissertation title was: Volatile studies along the Reykjanes Ridge, the Central America arc and the North Anatolia Fault Zone (Turkey).

Brian Franz

SUI Graduate Student (MS)

Brian worked for his MS degree at the Fluids and Volatiles Laboratory from 2010-2012. His MS thesis title was: He-CO2 systematics of groundwaters at Mt. Lassen volcano, northern California.

Evelyn Furi

SIO Graduate Student (PhD)

Evelyn studied at the Fluids and Volatiles Laboratory from 2004-2010. Her PhD dissertation title was: New insights into the origin, transport and behavior of noble gases: Examples from Monterey Bay, Costa Rica, Iceland, and the Central Indian Ridge.

Sam Haber

SIO Graduate Student (MS)

Sam studied at the Fluids and Volatiles Laboratory from 2007-2009. His MS thesis title was: Isotopes of helium, hydrogen and carbon as groundwater tracers in aquifers along the Colorado River.

Doshik Hahm

Post-doctoral Fellow

Doshik worked in the Fluids and Volatiles Laboratory for 3 years (2006-09) as a post-doctoral fellow. He is presently a researcher at the Korea Polar Research Institute, Incheon, South Korea.

Lillie Jaffe

SIO Graduate Student (MS)

Lillie was the first student to graduate from the Fluids and Volatiles Laboratory. She studied at SIO from 2000-2002. Her MS thesis title was: Volatile systematics of the Sangihe volcanic arc, Indonesia: tracing sources in an arc-arc collision.

Justin T Kulongoski

SIO Graduate Student (PhD)

Justin studied at Scripps from 1996-2003 and was an inaugural member of the Fluids and Volatiles Laboratory when it opened in 1999. His PhD dissertation title was: Noble gases dissolved in groundwater: techniques for exploring groundwater dynamics and paleoclimate variability. Present position – Groundwater Hydrologist, USGS, San Diego, California

Colin Macpherson

Post-doctoral Fellow

Colin worked at Scripps for two years (1996-1998) as a post-doctoral fellow in my lab. He is presently a Reader in Geochemistry at Durham University (UK).
